Neptune Festival’s Symphony By The Sea Concert Series

Throughout the year Virginia Beach plays host to incredible musical events with a wide range of music genres from rock to hip hop to country. Along with a large selection of performers—local, regional and national—Virginia Beach’s variety of event venues helps keep its entertainment scene fresh and exciting. From world-famous performers to local up-and-comers, Virginia Beach’s music scene has it all covered.

During your visit keep an eye out for performances happening at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront stages at 7th, 17th, 24th and 31st Streets. The popular Oceanfront Concert Series, presented by Beach Events, has returned for the summer. These family-friendly concerts are free and open to the public and run on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-11.00 p.m., now through Sept. 10. View the event schedule by clicking here.

On July 10, the Neptune Festival’s Symphony By The Sea Concert Series, which features performances by either the Virginia Symphony Orchestra or the Symphonicity Orchestra, at 31st Street Park will be back for its 14th season. All concerts are free to both residents and visitors, and they run on select Thursdays from 7:30-9:00 p.m. through the summer including July 10, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, Aug. 21 and Aug. 28.

The Dome, part of the Atlantic Park entertainment center currently under development at the Oceanfront, is Virginia’s newest venue that opened its doors in May. The state-of-the-art entertainment venue, which has an indoor-outdoor total audience capacity of 5,000, has a hot event lineup for 2025. Upcoming performances include: Wynonna Judd (June 20), Diana Krall (July 6), Chicago (July 22), Cody Jinks (Aug. 11), Papa Roach & Rise Against (Sept. 17), Ziggy Marley and Burning Spear (Sept. 22), Shaboozey (Sept. 27) and many more. Heading inland in Virginia Beach, the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater offers an impressive lineup of performances. Since 1996, this lively venue has been putting on high-caliber shows. A sampling of the 2025 concerts coming up include Big Time Rush; Nelly with Ja Rule, Eve & special guests; Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Def Leppard, James Taylor and many more! The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach’s Town Center is another excellent venue to experience a show, from world-famous artists to Virginia Arts Festival productions and symphony productions to tribute concerts. For the event schedule click here.

YNot Wednesdays, back for its 17th season, is a free concert series held on the Sandler Center Outdoor Plaza on Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m. during the summer months. As with the Oceanfront Concert Series, families will want to take advantage of these fun, wallet-friendly events during their stays.
