Let your voice be heard in legislative decisions that impact Virginia Beach in the local, state, and federal markets. There are many issues that affect the hospitality business and VBHA tracks and informs of the current and on-going issues. In addition to working locally and in the community for you, the VBHA has a strong presence at the state level and works closely with the Virgina Restaurant, Lodging and Tourism Association (VRLTA) to communicate, educate, and advocate for what’s best for the industry. The VBHA maintains the Virginia Beach Hospitality PAC which allows for the endorsement of local and state candidates that support the industry. In addition, partnering with the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitor Bureau (VB CVB) for input and communication on marketing efforts, special events and industry standards is a vital membership benefit. VBHA board members also hold seats on the Virginia Beach City Council appointed Resort Advisory Commission and several seats on sub-committees to ensure VBHA’s voice is heard as decisions and policies are being reviewed and discussed.

VBHA works closely with Beach Events | IMGoing, other event promoters, local organizations events to ensure hoteliers have the best and most up to date information to conduct business. In addition, we work closely with public safety officials and the VB Police to ensure we provide a safe family friendly experience for all. VBHA partners with Adopt-A-Muster program that members provide a “pre-muster” meal for the 2nd precinct during the high demand summer months as a community service project. VBHA sponsors the Find-A Kid program for hotel properties to participate in with the local lifeguard association and public safety to locate lost children on the oceanfront.

Market Exposure via the VBHA website, social media channels, and the highly successful VBHA digital newsletter offers property members additional opportunities to promote their hotels. VBHA also keeps abreast of Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) and Virginia Restaurant Lodging & Travel Association (VRLTA) offerings. The VBHA also works closely with the VB CVB on marketing campaigns, M&C projects, Sports marketing, and tourism updates and has representation on the Virginia Beach City Council appointed Advertising Advisory Committee (AAC).
