Virginia Beach Oceanfront
At its core, Virginia Beach is a fantastic beach destination that folks flock to for enjoying sunny beach days, water recreation and outstanding seafood. As a focal point, the Virginia Beach Oceanfront is a lively hub featuring a three-mile boardwalk, wide beaches, numerous hotels, waterfront dining, major festivals, live concerts and the list goes on! Locals and tourists alike gather here to have a good time, whether playing in the water, riding bikes on the boardwalk, attending an event or taking photos in front of the ocean or the iconic King Neptune Statue on 31st Street.
Virginia Beach has a number of other superb beaches as well including some locals’ favorites like First Landing Beach, also known as Chic’s Beach, on the Chesapeake Bay located at Virginia Beach’s North End. In the southern section of the Virginia Beach coastline is Sandbridge Beach, a popular beach for families thanks to its extensive amenities including a pier, playground, bathrooms and picnic area. Surfers have a number of great beach spots to choose from, including Sandbridge Beach, 1st Street Jetty at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and the more private Croatan Beach, just south.
The Resort City’s beaches are also especially alluring due to all of the fun activities happening at them. A reflection of Virginia Beach’s sports-focused community, competitions are a common sight along the Oceanfront, from beach volleyball and soccer tournaments to various pick-up games. Mark your calendar for Jackalope Fest returning to the Oceanfront, May 30, 2025 through June 1, 2025.
Enjoy world-class action sports competitions and demonstrations at Jackalope’s three-day festival. Then the following weekend, June 6-8, catch the North American Sand Soccer Championships all along the beach.
