VB Surf & Rescue Museum Pig & Oyster Fest, Oct. 26
Even though signs of fall are starting to show around the region, Virginia Beach’s event calendar isn’t cooling down. In late September, the Virginia Beach Oceanfront hosted one of its largest and most beloved annual festivals of the year, Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend, featuring its iconic International Sandsculpting Championship. This weekend, Oct. 10-12, the Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show will shine at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, from 24th Street to 35th Street. Marking its 69th year, the Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show will showcase the talented creations of more than 150 artists. With origins reaching back to a local art event in 1952, the event is now one of the longest-running art shows on the East Coast. It will also feature an interactive Virginia MOCA Art Park and the Liquid Art Beer Garden. Click here for more event details.
Other top Virginia Beach events happening soon at the Oceanfront include Old Point National Bank Wicked 10K Weekend, happening Oct. 24-25, which draw crowds of race participants and spectators—and fantastic people watching opportunities due to all of the fun Halloween-themed costumes and accessories. Returning for its fourth year, the VA Beach Jeep Fest, Nov. 7-9, is something Jeep enthusiasts won’t want to miss. This year’s three-day festival will include beach cruises, sand obstacle courses as well as vendors and an expo.
Celebrate Virginia Beach’s coastal heritage and amazingly fresh seafood at the VB Surf & Rescue Museum Pig & Oyster Fest, happening Oct. 26, and the Coastal Virginia Magazine Seafood Festival on Nov. 1.
