POSITION PURPOSE
The Banquet Captain provides leadership and direction to staff with exceptional attention to detail and guest services. Assists with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions. Oversee set-up and clean-up of food service for all banquet functions. Supervises Food and Beverage service to ensure exceptional service throughout the banquet. Greets and welcomes clients in charge and anticipates all requests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in training new employees.
Oversees the daily workflow of assigned departments.
Provides constructive and timely performance feedback to employees.
Participates in discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
Essential Functions
• Understands and abides by all safety protocols.
• Willingly embrace last-minute changes in direction and unexpected changes in operational plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintain positive guests relations at all times.
• Maintain maintenance and repair schedules.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Schedule staff according to business demands
• Ensure Banquet Event Orders (BEO) are followed (including A/V, F&B, and Setup)
• Greet clients and review group details prior to event
• Reconcile Banquet Beverage inventories
• Maintain all Cash handling responsibilities for Banquet Bars/ Cashiers
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education/Experience: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certificates & Licenses: Responsible Alcohol Beverage Service Certification required. Food Handlers Certification (If applicable).
