About This Role:
Valet are responsible for parking cars and assisting with luggage for guests when needed. This position requires customer service first and foremost as the valet is the first impression of our hotel guests as they arrive and the first contact for our guests.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Valid (state) drivers license with no more than 3 moving violations within the last 3 years.
Must successfully pass a DMV Check, Criminal Background Check and Pre-Employment Drug Test.
Must have good understanding of the English language.
Ability to communicate effectively with others – both verbally and written.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
Ability to compute basic arithmetic.
Desirable:
High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
Experience in hospitality industry in similar position.
Knowledge of the local area.
Ability to suggestively sell.
Ability to access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system.
Previous guest/customer relations training.
Physical Abilities
Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds.
Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 150 pounds.
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
Reach overhead
Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8-hours in length.
Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
Work environment – Hotel lobby and entrance areas, all guest areas. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings, and around fumes and/or odor hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, and chemicals.
Candidates that have had their driver’s license suspended within the past year are not eligible for hire in the role of Valet. For insurance purposes, all candidates must be over the age of 18.
Must be open to working nights, weekends, and holidays.
