ABOUT THIS ROLE:
Welcome to the Hemingway’s! Our restaurant is located within a beautiful 149-room property along the heart of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We are inviting candidates who have excellent communication skills, enjoy a fun and fast-paced work environment, and possess a passion to serve others to apply for our part-time Server position. As a server, you provide guests with excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner service while maintaining IHG brand and Holiday Inn standards. In a typical day-to-day, you can expect to:
- Efficiently and accurately take and deliver orders while interacting with guests
- Learn menu items and be able to describe them appropriately to guests, check-in with guests to ensure that they have everything they need, and clean dirty dishes from the table.
- Have knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits; familiarity with domestic and import beers, different types of wine, and brand name spirits.
- Maintain assigned areas by keeping them clean and free of debris, and track guests while they move around the pool area.
- Work with other servers and be a team player.
- Demonstrate superior guest service skills by presenting a friendly, relaxed, and professional demeanor; ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail while meeting business demands.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Minimum of 18 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a positive, upbeat fashion; possessing interpersonal skills with focused attention to guests needs.
- Ability to check transactions accurately and efficiently; basic math skills a must.
- Previous cash-handling experience, preferred
- Ability to withstand prolonged standing
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Flexible availability; able to work weekends and holidays
