We are inviting self-motivated candidates with building maintenance experience, a sense of urgency, and a passion to serve others to apply for our Part-Time Engineer position at the Holiday Inn Oceanside.

What You Will Bring To This Role:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of guestrooms and to achieve the goal of zero defects in every guestroom.  Responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, etc., as assigned.

Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
– Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
– Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.
– Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
– Perform preventative  maintenance  for  guest  rooms  to  include:  vinyl  and  wallpaper  repairs,  touch  up  paint,  minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, lighting and fixtures, etc..
– Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC and meeting rooms.
– Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
– Perform minor plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
– Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause -determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
– Communicate any  major  repairs,  such  as:  cracked  sink,  broken  mirror,  refinish  a  tub  or  A/C  motor  out,  to  Property Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications:
– 1-2 years of Hotel Building Maintenance experience
– Experience in repairing and patching drywall
– Must be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job: lifting/transporting up to 50 lbs; push/pull carts and equipment up to 100 lbs; stand and walk for a full shift; climb ladders and stairs; and reach overhead. must be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job: lifting/transporting up to 50 lbs; push/pull carts and equipment up to 100 lbs; stand and walk for a full shift; climb ladders and stairs; and reach overhead.
– Flexible schedule – must be able to work varied shifts that include days (7:00am to 3:00pm), nights (3:00pm to 11:00pm), weekends, and holidays.
