Maintenance Engineer – Holiday Inn North Beach
We are inviting self-motivated candidates with building maintenance experience, a sense of urgency, and a passion to serve others to apply for our Full-Time Engineer position at the Holiday Inn Express!
What You Will Bring To This Role:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of guestrooms and to achieve the goal of zero defects in every guestroom. Responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, etc., as assigned.
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.
Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl and wallpaper repairs, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, lighting and fixtures, etc..
Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC and meeting rooms.
Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
Perform minor plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause -determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
Communicate any major repairs, such as: cracked sink, broken mirror, refinish a tub or A/C motor out, to Property Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
1-2 years of Hotel Building Maintenance experience
Experience in repairing and patching drywall
Must be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job: lifting/transporting up to 50 lbs; push/pull carts and equipment up to 100 lbs; stand and walk for a full shift; climb ladders and stairs; and reach overhead. must be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job: lifting/transporting up to 50 lbs; push/pull carts and equipment up to 100 lbs; stand and walk for a full shift; climb ladders and stairs; and reach overhead.
Flexible schedule – must be able to work varied shifts that include days (7:00am to 3:00pm), nights (3:00pm to 11:00pm), weekends, and holidays.
