We are inviting candidates with strong food handling/cook experience, leadership skills, and outstanding integrity to apply for our Line Cook position at our restaurant, Square Whale.
What You Will Bring To The Role:
The Line cook will plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. He/She will maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
-Maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation/Health regulations and Hotel requirements.
-Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co‐workers to their understanding.
-Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guide.
-Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
-Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
-Meet with Head Cook/Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to the job performance.
-Inform F&B service staff of 86ʹd items and amount of available menu specials throughout the meal period.
-Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Hotel requirements.
-Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables.
-Breakdown work station and complete closing duties
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience as a Cook.
Required Qualifications:
Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds.
Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 250 pounds.
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8‐hours in length.
Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that includes nights, holidays, and weekends
