Craft Breweries
With a thriving craft beer scene, breweries are prevalent all around Virginia Beach. Visitors and locals alike don’t have to search hard to experience local IPAs, lagers, stouts and other unique brews. Along with boasting their own unique flavors and specialties, these establishments have their own personalities and quirks. Many of the breweries offer a laid-back atmosphere and are dog-friendly, allowing dogs to join owners on outdoor patios. These are fun spots to taste a variety of brews, including locally-sourced ingredients, plus also a way to support family-owned businesses and get better acquainted with the local community.
The resort city even has a dedicated beer trail, aptly called Virginia Beach Beer Trail, showcasing its local breweries. No doubt, you’ll find your drink of choice in the resort city.
Cool Distilleries
In recent years, more and more distilleries have been popping up throughout Virginia Beach. Here you can discover high-quality, award-winning spirits from bourbon and whiskey to moonshine and vodka. Of course, beach-inspired vodka cocktails are a staple on the area’s menus. The iconic Orange Crush—with freshly squeezed orange juice, vodka, soda and crushed ice—is surely a favorite. While in town, consider visiting a local distillery and taking a tour to discover interesting facts about the distillation process.
