2026 Upcoming Events in Virginia Beach

Neptune’s 29th Annual Fall Wine Festival, Sept. 11-12, 2026

Virginia Beach is a dynamic destination with a little of everything for all ages, interests and budgets. Certainly, maritime history and military appreciation are both core components of Virginia Beach’s local community. Through a myriad of activities and events, the resort city offers visitors and locals amazing opportunities to learn about and celebrate the heritage and history of the region. Home to amazing entertainment spaces and attractions, the Virginia Beach Oceanfront is a central hub for activities and events, especially along its famous three-mile boardwalk. The Oceanfront remains lively through all four seasons, and September and October are fabulous months to spend time in town. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss these incredible main events coming up soon.

Experience Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-6, with a variety of live music performances at 17th, 24th and 31st Street Stages. Also during Labor Day weekend, catch the Super Girl Surf Festival, Sept. 5-7, featuring more than 20 free concerts (pre-registration is required), inspiring speakers, athletic competitions and much more. This is the “world’s largest women’s sports, music and lifestyle festival”…and a can’t miss!

It’s no secret that Virginia produces high-quality wines, and the 29th Annual Fall Wine Festival, Sept. 11-12, is a favorite for wine lovers. Purchase tickets and get ready to taste a wide range of flavorful Virginia wines at the Oceanfront’s 31st Street Park.

Hampton Roads has a very strong military presence, so it’s no wonder that the NAS Oceana Air Show is a highly anticipated event each year. Featuring spectacular performances from the famous Blue Angels and many other demo teams, the annual air show attracts large crowds and this year’s show, happening Sept. 19-20, will offer a special 250th anniversary theme. This is a family-friendly event with free general admission.

Virginia Beach’s beloved beach culture will be on full display at the 52nd Annual Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend, Sept. 25-27. Featuring more than a dozen different events within one large festival, there’s so much to see and do at this large celebration at the Oceanfront.

Looking ahead to October, the 70th Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show, Oct. 9-11, and the Wicked 10K Weekend, Oct. 30-21, are both favorite fall happenings at the Oceanfront. In November, Jeep enthusiasts will love the celebration of all things Jeep-related at the VA Beach Jeep Fest 2026, Nov. 6-8.

Virginia Beach is also where live music is a mainstay. Some of the area’s free summer concert series have event dates stretching into September and October. On Sept. 12, Dinosaur Jr will perform at 17th Street Park as the final show of Beach Events’ Oceanfront Concert Series, and Bands in the Sand concerts will continue through the month of September with the final event on Oct. 8.

For more live shows, be sure to check out the schedules of Virginia Beach’s larger entertainment venues. The Dome, located on 20th Street at the Oceanfront, is Virginia’s newest entertainment venue and offers a diverse lineup of performers in a state-of-the-art indoor-outdoor facility. Heading inland, the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater and the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts have both served as area go-to’s for entertainment through the decades. Zeiders American Dream Theater, located across the street from the Sandler Center in the Town Center of Virginia Beach, presents a variety of performances by local and regional artists. Also not to be overlooked, many Virginia Beach restaurants, such as Abbey Road Pub & Restaurant and Lucy’s Sky Bar, host live music performances throughout the year.
