Hanging out at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront is a good time any time of the year, but the Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show weekend is an extraordinary event not to be missed and a compelling demonstration of how deeply the Virginia Beach community supports the arts. Celebrating its 67th year, the Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show is one of the only outdoor art shows held by an accredited museum. Hosted by the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, this popular annual event will showcase an array of artwork, including exceptional fine art, and crafts from more than 175 juried artists from around the nation. In fact, this year’s event has been extended to 35th Street to accommodate more artists in the show.
Not just limited to beach-themed art, the show will present visitors and locals with a huge display of interesting and unique works of art, covering more than a dozen mediums, set up in large tents lining the Virginia Beach Boardwalk from 24th to 35th Street. Attendees have the opportunity to help support the creative talents of various artisans by purchasing one-of-a-kind items not commonly found in stores. Why not start holiday shopping early this year and stock up on special gifts for loved ones?
