Mark your calendar to spend the last weekend of September at the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Here’s everything you need to know to start making plans for this iconic festival you won’t want to miss.
Year-round Virginia Beach entertains visitors and locals with large, high-caliber events, such as Something in the Water, Jackalope and Beach It! In 1974 the Neptune Festival, a year away from its 50th anniversary, became an official celebration of the City of Virginia Beach and has grown into a beloved tradition, drawing back dedicated attendees from across the globe year after year. Spanning the majority of Virginia Beach’s three-mile boardwalk, from 2nd street to 33rd street, the fun-filled weekend showcases beach culture and celebrates creativity, community and more!
Stroll the boardwalk and stop by the numerous tents, including more than 400 vendors, with one-of-a-kind products for sale from talented artisans. At the Neptune Festival discover unique gifts and home décor items that you won’t see every day.
Plenty of refreshments will be available from festival food vendors, including various food trucks, to popular restaurants located directly on the boardwalk such as Chix on the Beach, Mahi’s, Waterman’s Surfside Grille, Ocean House Waterfront Seafood and Catch 31 Fish House & Bar.
Listen to live music at free daily concerts featuring local, regional and national performers at two stages located at 24th and 31st Streets. Enjoy performances by The Wallflowers, Modern English, Cowboy Mouth, Steel Pulse, The Ocean Blue, Skip Castro Band and more.
In addition to ongoing musical performances, the festival’s packed event lineup includes:
- International Sandsculpting Championship
- Art & Craft Show
- Grand Parade
- Neptune’s Healthy Haven
- Surfing Classic
- Volleyball Tournament
- Hometown Heroes: Neptune’s Final Toast
- Neptune’s 8K Race
